It is a unique stone-clad cottage perched at 5500 ft. The place is surrounded by virgin pine, oak, and rhododendron trees and overlooks the majestic Himalayan peaks such as Trishul and Nanda Devi. From the cozy rooms with their own indoor fireplace to the outdoor dining area with views to admire, every nook and corner of the property spells peace and tranquility.

?As you walk down a little further from the cottage, you will also find our other property which you can book alongside this one if you are a bigger group. This cottage consists of 02 beautifully decorated and spacious rooms with large windows overlooking serene surroundings.

Inside the rooms, you will find elements of the local kumaoni culture: The thick walls have been finished with a mix of mud and locally found stone, and the lamps, as well as other decors, have been made by the locals of the surrounding villages and the roof has a wooden cladding to give the rooms a warm feeling.

Comfortable beddings coupled with an indoor fireplace provide the warmth and comfort needed on a cold winter evening and the large windows allow for an inflow of fresh mountain air on a summer day. On a clear weather day, you are able to spot snow-covered Himalayan peaks from the comfort of your bed.

Step outside the room and you will find the same old-world charm reflected in the private sit-out space which is just perfect for that evening tea or a lazy afternoon. When you book with us, you will have the entire place to yourself. Our cook/caretaker will leave no stone unturned to make sure you have a great time. Our properties are all about peace and tranquility. A place where you can let go of everything and spend time doing nothing at all.

Laze around on the hammock, read a book, or gaze endlessly at the snow-covered peaks in the distance. Hike up to the hilltop to watch the most blissful sunset and get a 180-degree view of the surroundings. Explore the nearby villages and an old British bungalow on foot.

If you’d like to head out, you can drive down to the famous Dol Ashram or to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary for a jungle safari, Kasar Devi for the views and cafes, and Almora town for the local sweet dish called “Baal Mithai”.

Accommodation:
Our cottages are located on the same premises and share the same kitchen. We recommend this property for groups of 04 – 06 guests while the standalone kumaoni cottage property is recommended for groups of 02-04 guests. You may book both if you are in a bigger group.

This property is offered exclusively to only one group at a time, the price varies depending on the number of guests. Please select the exact number of guests while booking.

We have 02 rooms. Rooms are offered on double occupancy up until 04 guests and other rooms are locked. We will offer extra beds in the rooms if you are in a group of more than 04 guests.

The Weather:
The temperature is similar to that of Almora, only a little lower since we are surrounded by lush greenery. Like any other home in the mountains, we do not have an air conditioner and there are no ceiling fans in the rooms. The thick stone walls keep the place warm in winter and cool in summer.
